Most pets are terrified of electric devices, but for the few that can brave their loud noises, their numerous plastic appendages, and their alien moving parts, fortune smiles upon them. This cat just saved herself hours of tedious grooming and fur balls upon fur balls. In all honesty, it looks like it felt great too.
While it varies from cat to cat, most felines spend about 50% of their waking hours grooming themselves. The constant licking of most surfaces of their body accomplishes several tasks. Most importantly, it facilitates the production of sebum, an oily substance secreted into the fur in order to keep it moisturized and waterproofed. Grooming also works to get rid of shed hair, remove dirt, and get rid of parasites.
