Get thee behind me, Satan! Cats coming through.Every day, a monk from the Optina Monastery, a Russian Orthodox institution located near the community of Kozelsk, walks the inner courtyard, blessing its walls. While only male priests live there, the monastery also numbers a flock of stray cats among its congregation.
Leading the cats is Sergey Kuzmich, who lives at the center of faith. He is also known among the feline population as the generous soul who feeds them.
“Cats know and love him,” said one of the monastery’s monks in an email to the Huffington Post,” they decided to take part in the whole procedure though it wasn’t feeding time, which looked very touching and that’s why we filmed it and have shared this video on YouTube.”
